Course Description:

Fabric Glossary is a comprehensive course designed for those whose career direction will require textile knowledge. Highlights include understanding of fabric's properties, characteristics, and garment-design potential. Learn about the most commonly worn textiles, how textiles affect the environment and working with fabric swatches.

Learning Objectives:

Classify a wide range of natural and synthetic fabrics that comprise textile products.

Describe the different weaves of these fabrics.

Examine patterns found in various fabrics.

Analyze fabrics to determine suitability to different silhouettes and styles of clothing.

Rate new developments in the field oftextiles and their impact on design.

Evaluate key designer's fabric choices.
